Google SandBox
The Google
sandbox is an entity that is often challenged, if it really exists or
not. However, it is only because of the effects it provides that it is
known that it exists. It is a new filter that was started in March 2004
where new sites are placed in it on probationary status.
Though a
website may function well for a few weeks, once Google sandbox is
applied to the website, the website may still show in the result pages.
However, now the site may not have a good ranking, no matter how
optimized and original the content in the site is. No number of links
too will have any effect on the Google sandbox effect on the site. In
other words, with the Google sandbox, the new website is hampered from
experiencing success in the results of search engines.
Don’t think
that the Google sandbox is a hindrance to the new website’s success;
it’s just a sort of starting period for the website. It has been noted
that the websites having more competitive keywords; which results in it
remaining longer in the Google sandbox than sites with less competitive
keywords.
One wonders
if the Google sandbox is a good step that was implemented by Google as
many webmasters don’t like their websites that having traffic generating
potential ending up in Google sandbox. However, there was a reason for
the implementation of the Google sandbox. By finding out the elements of
Google’s ranking techniques, search engine spammers took advantage of
them to create websites that were violating Google’s policies. They knew
that this would lead to the banning of their sites; however, it was
enough for them if their sites ranked well for a month, before getting
banned. They would have justified their site building costs by then.
They would then just rebuild their spam websites as different domains
and repeat the process.
It was
Google’s fast indexing that facilitated this plan for spammers, as
websites were indexed within a month’s time. So to solve this, the
Google sandbox was started. From then, websites are still indexed
quickly, but new websites were not trusted as quickly as they were
before. New sites are first placed in probation in the Google sandbox to
be checked for spamming, and then leave the sandbox to join other
websites.
So there is
a high possibility of all new websites ending up in Google sandbox.
However, instead of pondering on this, it is better for you to use this
time constructively and build traffic generating tactics to your
website. This could be done by adding articles and linking with related
websites. With this, when the site leaves Google sandbox, it has an even
better chance of doing well in search engine rankings.
It is easy
to find out if your site is in Google sandbox or banned. Banned sites
don’t give results in searches; so if you get a zero result, your
website is banned. However, if you rank well in other search engines,
but don’t seem to show up in Google rankings, it is very probable that
your site has been sandboxed. You need not worry if your site is
sandboxed, as there is a way out of it. All you have to do is to wait.
Remember,
Google sandbox is not a permanent filter, but only reduces spamming in
search engines. So you just improve the website when it is in the Google
sandbox, while waiting for your turn comes up to leave the sandbox. Then
all the hard and extra work that you had put in improving your website
will show up with better search engine rankings when it leaves the
sandbox.
So
basically, Google sandbox is Google’s method of controlling search
engine spam. Just use it as an opportunity to create a website that will
do excellently in search engines.
