Proper SEO for Google
The name of
the game in website and web page marketing these days is SEO, or search
engine optimization. It is the quest to get one's site or page ranked
high on search engines so it will be accessed by a large percentage of
the global audience present on the net today. One of the more well known
search engines belongs to Google.[i]
People from around the world use this user-friendly search
engine to more easily connect with the information and website links
that interest them the most.
How do you
go about getting your web page or website the elite-ranking it needs to
capture more of the global audience than your closest competitor? With
clever, but totally- legitimate search engine optimization strategies of
course! Forget about using the Black Hat tactics of the
ethics-challenged. Tactics such as hidden-text, junk-pages, and spamming
(sending unsolicited emails) is a sure-fire way to get your web pages at
the top of a list alright- "The Crap List." Don't believe those that say
you need to use such tactics for optimizing: they'd also like to sell
you snake-oil they say cures everything from acne to rabies!
No need to
compromise your ethics in order to optimize your website or web pages
for the Google search engine. The following strategies can help you get
your web pages the elite-ranking needed for a large share of the global
internet audience searching for just what you have to offer.
Web
Page- Opening Paragraph
You know
the saying; "You only have one chance to make a first impression?" There
are not any truer statements than this one. The opening paragraph on
your web page needs to be a powerful one. It needs to get the
attention of the search engines in order to be among the chosen-few.
Making the grade for the search engines isn't the only consideration for
having a powerful opening paragraph. Many people have short
attention-spans, if you don't get their attention in those opening
sentences, they'll move on!
Key-Word
and Key-Word Phrases
Keywords
are the words that people most often use when searching for something in
particular. By using those commonly used words in your web pages, the
more appealing your web page becomes to the search engines. The more of
these keywords used, the better; however, they need to flow-freely
within the text of your web page. Web pages with an unnatural or
confusing flow of keywords will be redirected to: "The Crap List."
Keyword Phrases use three or more keywords grouped together. This helps
narrow a search and also increases the elitist-ranking of web pages
containing free-flowing keyword phrases in them. An example of a keyword
phrase would be to use: "potty training puppies," instead of just the
keyword: "puppy."
Density
Density
refers to the number of times, or percentage of keywords-versus-other
words used in a free-flowing manner within a web page. The larger the
percentage (density) of words on a web page favors keywords over other
words, the higher ranking that web page will have.
Directory Listing
Submit your
website or web pages to web directories. The Google search-engine is
especially fond of web pages that have been listed in directories. Many
of these directories are free to list in.
Link
Sharing
Web pages
and websites with links to other websites of like-resources are also
favored by the search-engines. Including several of these links on a web
page will again raise the ranking of the web page.
Following
these strategies will help you to make the elite-list on the Google
search engine so that when a member of that global audience searches
they’re more likely to be connected with you and your website.
